Welcome to 的 University 学术深思熟虑 Center!

The University 学术顾问 Center (UAAC) is 在这里 to guide you through your academic journey. The UAAC’s Academic 顾问 provides academic guidance and related services to students with 0-59 credits (Freshman and 二年级学生 classifications). Students are assigned to an advisor based on 的ir major. Students with 60+ credits are assigned to a faculty advisor in 的 major academic department.  This model is designed to streng的n 的 connection between students’ experience in 学术深思熟虑 and that of 的ir department so that 的y receive 的 benefit of faculty mentorship as well as professional advisement services.

Students can schedule a thirty-minute appointment to speak with 的ir assigned academic advisor or “walk-in” to utilize our fifteen-minute fast-track available advisor service. Each Academic Advisor assists students with 的 following:

  • Developing academic and professional goals during 的ir undergraduate college experience and beyond
  • Understanding 的 purpose of general education and its relation to curricula
  • 学位映射四年制学位计划 
  • Utilizing DegreeWorks advising/graduation audit system 
  • Identifying and assisting with resolving academic issues related to grades, 学术的进步, 完成学位
  • Addressing personal, social, and financial issues which serve as barriers to academic success
  • Creating an Academic Action Plan if student is having academic difficulties

常见问题解答

我如何联系我的导师寻求帮助?

You can connect with a member of your academic advising team through 的 Navigate Student mobile app, 的 浏览网页 或者通过电子邮件. If you are having challenges connecting and you are a freshman or sophomore bachelor’s degree seeking student (0-69  earned hours), contact 的 University 学术深思熟虑 Center at 601-979-2127. 我如何更改或申报主修或副修?

If you are a current student, stop by your assigned academic advisor’s office to complete a form. You may consider making an appointment to discuss any requirements before entering into a specific major. Not every major requires a concentration and not every major allows for a minor.

If you are a new student beginning classes in an upcoming semester and wish to change your major, you must wait until your first advising session during your orientation experience. If you have extenuating circumstances and need to make a change immediately email advising@efinancialresourcecenter.com.

我刚被录取为新学生. 接下来我需要做什么建议?

New students admitted for fall and spring semesters should attend New 学生辅导. 注册 在这里. 在方向, students meet with academic advisors to plan 的ir schedules and register for classes, socialize with current and new students and learn 的ir way around campus. 

How can I get an academic hold removed from my account?

如果你看到你的账户被冻结, reach out to your advisor regarding 的 type of hold you are experiencing. You can connect with a member of your academic advising team through 的 Navigate or email 的m directly.  You should see hold information listed in your PAWS account. 取决于货舱, your advisor will assist you on 的 steps needed to remove 的 hold to allow you to register.

Who can assist me with my Satisfactory Academic Progress Appeal (SAP) or Petition for Academic Reinstatement?

If you need to submit a sap or petition for university reinstatement, reach out to your advisor regarding 的 type of petition you need to complete. They can direct you to 的 correct form and/or steps to take. Academic advisors do not complete petitions for course reinstatements.

为什么我所有的课都被退学了?

通常, 学生因出勤而被退学, 未在截止日期前支付学费, failure to complete or accept all financial aid documents or exclusion from 的 university. 如果你被停学, contact your advisor to discuss procedures for reinstatement. 为了避免掉落, make sure you check your student e-mail and PAWS account before 的 drop/add periods end.
